Myths and realities about the running

When we started to run, we hear things from all sides. Your Grandma says that you are going to hurt your knees, your mom wants you to eat well and not so much... There are many myths that exist about food and running. This time we will talk of the most important, so that you do not believe "misconceptions". Therefore, I am going to introduce you with some myths and realities about the running.

If I run, I will lose weight

True! It is a fact that many women are beginning to run to lose weight and succeed (after them like so much that now they cannot do so). However, remember that the exercise goes hand in hand with power. Even if you run, if you do not eat well you will not achieve your goal. There should be a balance between the calories you "spend" with which they consume. If you think that by running, you can eat anything you want, you probably fatten.

Running hurt your knees

Fake! Poor diet and poor training like many factors that can cause injury. If you want to keep your knees healthy, it is important that in any training session, you include a few minutes of heating and cooling at the end. It is preferable that you shorten the main part of the session, but give you the time to stretch at least 10 minutes, otherwise, increase the risk of injury. In addition, I recommend you complement your exercise with some strength: weights, Pilates, yoga, if you keep your muscles strong you do not get hurt.

Run decreases muscle mass

False... provided you take a proper diet. The protein, the main structure of the muscle, yes we can serve fuel while we run, but only in extreme conditions. Remember that our main fuels for running are carbohydrates (carbs) and fats. Your diet should be low in carbohydrates so that the body has to rely on proteins, and of course, that is not ideal, because your performance would be decreased.

If I run will make me very hungry

Fake! After running, it is a fact that will give us hunger, as it is a normal signal the body to recover the energy from your muscles. However, despite having an appetite, once you eat, you will feel satisfied long before and you can better control your weight. It is easier to follow a meal plan when we exercise than when we stay sedentary.

Is not good to run in fasting

True! Found that running in fasting can help you to burn more fat, but beware, you should only do this when you are jogging at a very easy pace and so on. Ideally, that before running to consume foods that provide carbohydrates to give you enough energy: a banana or an apple with a handful of almonds can be a very good option.

It is not good to run daily

Fake! Yes, you can run every day, provided you have one day a week off and keep a good training program that combines more intense days, with periods of recovery.

Do not believe everything they tell you, it is good to stay informed by different sources. Before making a decision, consult an expert. Keep running, you will not regret!
